Helena - Final

OK, well, Helena's all finished! I had a hard time with this, because her hair is so fine. I actually stopped it for a long time because I didn't know how I was going to approach it, but gave it a try and I think it came out OK. I finished it yesterday and gave it to her parents, who loved it. Helena's mom said she was going to cry, and they both just kept staring at it, and said they were going to treasure it forever. They're currently expecting, so they asked if I realized I'd have to do her sibling, too. I said I would, as long as he/she was as cute as Helena. I'm glad they liked it.

Holy Crap! These are amazing. The wrinkle in your baby's lip looks like she's ready to start gurgling, and she's got an angelic glow about her. nice lighting.

Thanks, Jake. I see a lot of things I could've done differently in this - I have a long way to go yet! Glad you like it, though.

Steve, these are really phenomenal. I mean, seriously. I can't even draw figures, so I am presently bowing at your feet, complete in awe.

I found your blog through the ASIFA archive comments section. I was looking through your very first posted portraits in the "right side of the brain" series. Then I came to check out your current work . . . WOW!! This is why I reccomend that boo tpo ANYONE who says "I wish I could learn how to draw . . ."

Have you ever done any caricature?

Hi, Kelly. Thank you for the nice compliments. No, I've never tried caricatures. I'd love to learn how. If you have any favorite books, I'd love to hear your recommendations!

Stop saying, "I'm not an artist."

I've been a professional artist for 15 years, and you kill. I'm starting out the ASIFA course, too, and I see I'm going to have to step up my game.

Wow, thanks, Philip. I appreciate your comments. OK, I'll stop saying that, but technically, I'm not really. I haven't drawn anything in a few months - at this rate, I really am not an artist! I'd better get back to it!
